Greater Warangal Congress Working President Rajanala Srihari has urged Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud to immediately appoint presidents for the Greater Congress units in Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam to strengthen the party and improve its prospects in the upcoming Greater Municipal Corporation elections.
In a statement released from the East Congress office on Hunter Road in Warangal, Srihari said the appointments were essential for the Congress to secure all five Greater Municipal Corporation positions mentioned in his statement.
He expressed concern over the failure to appoint presidents for the five Greater Congress units over the past three years, describing the delay as unfortunate. He said the appointments were necessary to strengthen the party’s organisational structure and respond to criticism from opposition parties.
Srihari appealed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal and Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan to intervene and ensure that the appointments were made without further delay.
He also sent a letter to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud reiterating his demand for the immediate appointment of the Greater Congress presidents.
